EABC SENDS LETTER TO SENATE FOREIGN
RELATIONS
COMMITTEE ON US-GERMANY TAX TREATY
On October 21st, the European American Business Council (EABC) sent a
letter
to Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Lugar and Ranking
Member Biden asking for their committee’s support of the protocol
amending the United States – Germany Income Tax Treaty.
The letter outlines EABC’s support for the amended treaty which
contains pro-investment and pro-trade reforms of tax practices in both
Germany and the United States. According to Michael Maibach,
President and CEO of EABC, “The new US-Germany Tax Treaty reflects more
than a decade of careful, bipartisan work by the US Treasury department
and its EU counterparts. It incorporates reforms that foster fair
two-way tax treatment, promote robust economic growth and build on the
long-term investment partnership between America and Germany.”
